How the rulings get made

Short answer first. Evidence immediately after.

Pipe Says No turns scattered public-agency and manufacturer guidance into a fast household ruling. The jokes are ours. The disposal limits, wastewater rules and safety cautions come from linked sources.

What we prefer

We prioritize U.S. government agencies, municipal wastewater authorities, international wastewater groups and product manufacturers. When sources disagree—especially about garbage disposals—we choose the cautious household answer and say that model-specific instructions control.

What a verdict means

No means use another disposal route. Check first means the answer depends on an exact product, disposal model, local rule or official exception. Yes means the outlet is generally intended for that item when used normally.

Corrections and local rules

Every full ruling shows its review date and sources. Product labels, appliance manuals and local wastewater or hazardous-waste rules outrank this general guide. We revise rulings when authoritative guidance changes.
