Why the pipe objects
A whole core is a dense fibrous load, and several can overwhelm a disposal or collect downstream.

Compost apple cores or put them in the trash.

Stop feeding the disposal. If it hums, jams or drains slowly, switch off power and follow the manufacturer’s safe reset instructions. Never reach inside.
