Why the pipe objects
Thick peels add fibrous solids, and using them as a disposal deodorizer does not make the downstream plumbing want them.

Zest, candy or compost the peels; clean the disposal according to its manual.

Stop feeding the disposal. If it hums, jams or drains slowly, switch off power and follow the manufacturer’s safe reset instructions. Never reach inside.
