Why the pipe objects
Nail clippings do not readily dissolve and can collect in a trap with hair and soap residue.

Catch clippings on a towel or paper and place them in the trash.

Do not send more solids after it. If the fixture slows, rises or gurgles, stop using it and contact a plumber.
