Why the pipe objects
Cooked oats absorb water and become a thick paste that can settle in a trap and bind with grease or other food scraps.

Scrape oatmeal into compost or the trash, then wipe the bowl before rinsing it.

A trace of oatmeal is unlikely to be an emergency. Do not add grease or more food; if the drain slows or gurgles, stop using it and call a plumber.
