Why the pipe objects
Sauce can contain oil, cheese, meat and vegetable solids that coat or collect inside plumbing.

Do this instead
Freeze usable leftovers or scrape the sauce into compost or trash before rinsing the container.

Do not add grease, solids or chemical cleaner. A small accidental amount may pass; watch for slow drainage and call a plumber if the fixture changes.
